District 201

Greetings to all members of Multiple District 201.

At the Multiple District Convention held in May 2010 at Mildura, the Notice of Motion that "Multiple District 201 adopt the Emergency Medical Information Book as a category "B" project for an initial term of 3 years " was approved unopposed, thus setting in motion the wheels to help bring the Life Saving Book to many more people throughout Australia.

Web sites, for Lions and EMIB, have now been upgraded to display the new order forms, logos and costs.

The new cover of the Emergency Medical Information Book displays
the State Ambulance logo and the Lions Club logo only, with the words
"Lions Club of............District 201........"under the logo. The book colour
will be different in most states.

EMIB Blackwood

The EMIB has already been adopted by many Lions Clubs throughout Australia. The book is contained in a plastic sleeve which has three magnets on the back to ensure it adheres to the front of a refrigerator door. The owners name is written clearly on the front cover and includes all information in relation to medical conditions, medication details and medical history. The Book also contains details regarding your name, address, pension, medicare and other important numbers, together with all emergency contact phone numbers. It is also important to mark the book with male or female if your names are similar.

A mail out to all Clubs within the Multiple District took place towards the end of June 2010, explaining the look of the Book, its contents and how they can help your Members, your Club and your Community. An order form accompanied the mail out but if you are looking for an additional order form, please click on the link below to Download the Order Form for LIONS CLUBS (all districts).

It is truly hoped that all clubs will either purchase books for their own Clubs use or will join other Clubs and make a joint purchase of at least 250 books.

I do urge all Clubs to continue the great work they have been doing, or if they have not as yet involved their Club, that they do so and thus see the benefit they can bring their Club and local community.
